James A. Demetriou was with the Collection Division of the IRS for 16 years.  As a Revenue Officer, and first and second level manager at the IRS, he devised, implemented and approved various tax liability settlement plans and enforcement actions.  He was also an instructor with the IRS where he taught collection policies, practices and procedures as well as management courses. 

After leaving the IRS in 1988, Mr. Demetriou became an Enrolled Agent and formed Demetriou, Montano & Associates, The Tax Problem Specialists, in Southern California where he has represented thousands of individuals and businesses before the IRS and State tax collection agencies.  His firm represents about 300 active clients (at any given time) who have unfiled tax returns from three to 20 years and unpaid taxes from $20,000 to $3 million.

Mr. Demetriou has also conducted tax problem resolution classes for attorneys, CPAs and Enrolled Agents.
